CLIMATE & WEATHER
Myanmar is situated at the Tropical region and there has  three seasons.

*Cool (Winter)Season is starting from October through February with average temperatures 20-24 C

*Hot Season is starting from March through May with average temperatures 30-35 C

*Wet Season is starting from June through September with average temperatures 25-30 C.

The best time for Tourists to visit  Myanmar is during cool season.Yangon is  normally receives morning and afternoon showers while rainfall in Bagan and Mandalay is very low. Inle Lake and Shan State is quite pleasant all year round but cold at night from December to February.

CREDIT CARDS

Credit Cards are accepted at a very few major hotels, airlines and some  others international shops and restaurants. Suggest to bring a sufficient amount of cash for personal expenses. The exchange of traveler cheques as well is very difficult and time consuming. Banks are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and all public holidays.

CURRENCY

Recommend to visitors to bring US Dollar in cash– larger notes receiving a better rate in exchange. Exchange of other foreign currencies (Euros, Yen, Pounds Sterling…etc)  are acceptable and can be exchange in  authorized money changer throughout Myanmar .Most of the Money Exchange services are available in all Major Cities sunch as Yangon,Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay , Bagan ,Inle and other cities.

Airport Tax is levied on all passengers

INSURANCE
We recommend all clients to obtain the necessary personal baggage, medical and accident insurance before arrival. SOS Worldwide has a local representative office in Yangon with a 24 hour on call service for emergency evacuation and medical assistance.

IMMIGRATION & CUSTOMS FORMALITIES
Your valuables ( jewelry, cameras, electronic equipment, etc.) should be declared on your customs declaration form upon arrival. Receipt of purchase and an export permit voucher for locally bought goods such as gems and jewelry may be required upon departure.

MOBILE PHONES
4 Telecommunication Operator are giving service in Myanmar and these operator are MPT , MYTEL , OOREDOO , and TELENOR. 4G network are cover in all Major cities and roaming service are available for some Countries. Tourist SIM Card can be bought at Yangon International Airport by showing your Passport.

POWER & ELECTRICITY
Most of the Hotels in Major city  offer 24 hour power with a generator back up. In other more isolated areas like Kyaingtong, the Shan Hills ,  Beaches  and other rural areas  will not available 24 hours  backup generator .

RELIGION
The majority of the people of Myanmar are Buddhist . Christianity, Islam and Hinduism are also practiced.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

A visa is required in advance for most of the counties except the following Nationals;

Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia have a duration of stay lasts for 30 days, except Indonesia and Brunei with 14 days of stay.

Ordinary passport holders from Japan, Hongkong, Macau and Korea are granted Myanmar visa exemption for tourism purpose only with the length of stay lasts for 30 days.

Starting from 1 october 2019 , Australia, Germany , Italy , Russia , Spain and Switzerland are allowed for  Visa On Arrival  and eligible to visit 30 Days in Myanmar.

DRINKING WATER
For your safety ,suggest you to drink purified bottle water. Bottled water is available in everywhere and some hotels provide complimentary. Carry your  bottle throughout the day.

FOOD

Myanmar ,Chinese, European, Thai, and Indian Cuisine are widely available in Major Cities .Myanmar Cuisine are become more  and more popular  among Tourists with variety of choices .There are many good locals restaurants with  reasonable cost.

ENTRANCE FEES

Some Contribution  as Entrance Fees in Historical  Monuments and Archeological sites.

HEALTH
No inoculations or vaccinations are required unless coming from or passing through an infected area. Clients should bring sufficient medication with them if required and should check for updated health recommendations before your departure to Myanmar regarding hepatitis, malaria, typhoid, etc. Please contact us if you would like detailed information on emergency health services available.

VOLTAGE
The voltage in Myanmar is 220-230 Volts AC. Voltage fluctuation which can damage  your electrical equipments and Please bring along required protection for your electrical items.
